Ministry
Their first place of ministry (4-1/2 years) was as youth pastor at First Assembly of God in Belleville, Illinois. The opportunity therewas to raise up godly young people and get a basis for overall ministry at the church. Of the young people in the youth group at that time, many are involved in full-time church ministries, including youth pastors, music pastors, missionaries, and senior pastors.
God led David and Kathy to Warren, Illinois, to be senior pastors at Faith Assembly of God for seven years. The church began in 1975, had been located in Stockton, and purchased a Presbyterian Church building in Warren which better suited their needs. When the Andreasens came, the church congregation decided to buy a parsonage located directly across the street, which was remodeled over time. Attendance and giving increased over the years.
David and Kathy Andreasen came to Lincoln, Illinois, in March of 1992 as God led them into a new place of ministry. Over the years God used them to build up the body of believers at Faith Assembly of God, and then to build up a new structure for the house of God. The two have gone hand in hand as so many of the congregation put their hands to the project to see it go forward. There was great excitement as the move was made to the new facility in June of 1999, and then into the completed sanctuary for the Christmas services in December 2002. With the final dedication in November 2003, we can say "To God be the Glory." Just as exciting was paying off the church mortgage in January of 2008. The project had come full circle.

Purpose
Everyone God calls into ministry is used in different ways. God has placed in the hearts of this couple a desire to lead God's people into holiness and greater commitment. He has also used them in a time of building or rebuilding of facilities.

Starting a Greeter Program
Four years ago I accepted the challenge of evangelism chairperson for our church. One of the first programs the pastor and I developed was the Sunday morning greeter program. -
Motivating the Right Person into the Right Ministry
One of the greatest challenges for most leaders is selecting and motivating the right people into the right ministry positions in hopes of minimizing turnover and frustration. Even in the smaller church with limited personnel, it is important to coordinate people and ministry as much as possible. -
“I TRIED, BUT NO ONE EVER CALLED ME”
“I tried, but no one ever called me” are painful words for a leader who has much work to do and not enough people willing to do it. These words are painful for the person who wanted to contribute, but was never called. These are also painful words for a person who is committed to helping people connect and contribute in meaningful ways within the church.
